Synopsis
A rather little known episode WWII – the fate of Czechoslovak troops in the Middle East under leadership of the legendary General Karel Klapálek. Survivor of this unit make observations regarding Masaryk, their departure for foreign lands, the defence of Tobruk, their belated arrival in Prague and communist jails that awaited them. They also comment on today´s disinterest in war heroes. Unseen archive shots take you thousands of kilometres from home to the desert sand dunes where Czechoslovakia´s freedom was fought over.
