Radim Procházka (*1975)


Biography

Born in 1975. Studied documentary filmmaking at FAMU under Prof. Karel Vachek. Graduated in 2006 with the thesis film Krejča za branou (Krejca Behind the Gate), a portrait of theatre director Otomar Krejči. Producer of director Robert Sedáček’s feature debut, Pravidla lži (Rules of Lies) (2006), which won, among others, the 2006 Critic’s Prize and Czech Lion for screenplay. He is the co-author of Sedlacek’s trilogy of feature-length documentaries Tenkrát (Then) (1999 – 2002), which tells the story of czech modern history. In 2006, he also produced Karel Vachek’s Záviš, the Prince of Pornofolk Under the Influence of Griffith’s In­tolerance and Tati’s Mr. Hulot’s Holiday, or The Foundation and Doom of Czechoslovakia (1918 – 1992) (2006). He is the producer of Vachek’s upcoming film The Obscurantist and His Lineage, and is also releasing Vachek’s complete filmography on DVD. With Petr Fischer, he is currently writing the screenplay for a docudrama about the controversial Czech politician Jiří Čunek.
